Better chances won’t find you, you have to find them

Interview Preparation

Even if we have a good job we will always want an even better one, and why not? The sky is the limit; growth is always possible until we believe that there are better opportunities for us. While preparing for interviews, this article will help with some tips and tricks to ace it.

Your new employers will want to know about your past work experience to get a better understanding of your work techniques. Doing that, they will be able to judge your qualities against the job attributes. Your previous experience will work as an indicator of your efficiency. The new employers will want to get some information about you from your ex-employers to make sure you have a good record in your existing company.

Make sure you give your new employers a good reason as to why they should hire you and why you want to work for them instead of continuing to work in your present firm. There is no need to bad mouth your present firm and be ungrateful, instead have something dignified to say. Also describe the kind of opportunities your previous employers gave you for development and avoid any negative discussion regarding your salary or the working hours. Also, avoid sharing any proprietary information about your previous firm.

If you are changing jobs make sure you emphasize on the positive factors, make them understand that the company’s culture corresponds to your interests and skills. It should be evident that you are looking for an improvement of your situation, also try sharing rewarding experiences with clients while working in your previous firm.

If you want to change career field don’t show up empty-handed; give them some evidence that you are good, your work samples or training certificates will help. Also prepare yourself for the big question “Why do you want to change your career field?”. Figure out the reasons in advance and sound confident.

If you are showing up for work after a long career break don’t justify or apologize, inform them about the development you have received in the break and how you will be able to be helpful to them. Also have an up-to-date knowledge of the field you are working in.

Don’t limit yourself to this knowledge, be prepared with the questions that come to your mind. Because, if they are coming to your mind they will also come to the minds of the recruiters. Be confident and hit the mark as an experienced person would. Your experience doesn’t talk unless you showcase them. All the best!
