Celebrating the Feminine on International Women’s Day

Every year on the 8th of March the world celebrates International Women's Day with much pomp and grandeur. It is a day dedicated to the celebration of womanhood to achieve freedom and empowerment of women across the world. Though the world celebrates the day with much exuberance, the day is not about celebrating one gender based on biological differences. In fact, it is a day for celebrating the feminine and the various inherent traits that define it.

As such, International Women's Day is to talk about and respect the feminine characteristics of caring, nurturing, expressing, creativity, etc. amongst all irrespective of gender. It is a day dedicated not only to women but to men as well who have come out of the clutches of a male-dominated society and have strived to create a balanced feminine environment for oneself and those in their eco-system. It is about praising men and women, boys and girls who have succeeded in achieving the extraordinary.

So, the day is not just about celebrating a mother who has succeeded in an excellent upbringing of her child but is also about praising a father who went beyond the societal norms and has nurtured and cared for his children as a mother would do. It is not about just applauding a wife who takes immense care of her husband but about appreciating a husband's earnest effort in caring for his wife. It is about complimenting those who make an effort to take care and nurture members of their family, friends, strangers, and even animals that are in need of compassion and love.

In short, it is about appreciating all feminine traits that help make the world a better place and aim to create a better future for all. So, this International Women's Day, let's not just celebrate the feminine but compliment the feminine traits as well without being gender biased.
